4 tips for writing letters

Who doesn't love getting a letter? Just knowing that someone took the time to write gives a warm and authentic feeling and you can be completely moved. Whether you prefer to write on a white piece of paper, draw a picture or go to the trouble of finding the perfect card to write on, know that the recipient will love you for it.

Whether you have to write a love letter (do you realize how many times such a letter is read?), write to a schoolmate because you are home from school or write to the grandparents, who may not have quite caught on to the email wave, then you stand out from the crowd: You are doing something that many others don't want or can't stand. That's why YOU have to do it.

The 4 tips are:

Tip #1: Write by hand. Many of us write far too little by hand, because the computer and the phone have completely taken over all our writing. When you write by hand, what you write becomes much more personal and much harder to see. If you have to write something that is really important, then you have to write by hand. It works! And children think it's cozy.

Tip #2: Prepare the content. Plan what you want to write. It is always a good idea to think about what you want to write. Find out what you want to say and where you want to say it. For example, you can start by writing some key words for yourself. Once they are down on paper, it becomes much easier to write the rest of the letter.

Tip #3: Borrow quotes. There are a lot of quotes online and they can be funny, brilliant and are guaranteed to be entertaining. Try googling 'quotes about...' and see what comes up. Perhaps you can use one or more quotes to emphasize your point.

Tip #4: End with a hug. It's hard to give a hug online and when you're far apart. Give a hug instead of a normal greeting. For example, you can write 'Hug from ...', 'Kiss and hug ...', 'Huge hug from ...' if it suits your recipient. A simple loving greeting can also always be used and creates joy. If you are writing to a girlfriend, 'Møz fra ...' might be the right way to end the letter.
