Is it silly to put silly puzzles?

This week, the 2nd consignment of silly puzzles has arrived at the Puzzle Shop in Helsingør. So you might be asking: What is a silly puzzle? And is it too silly to put a silly puzzle together? You get the answers here.

Silly puzzles with funny motifs

Silly puzzles are all the rage. They probably are because the motifs are so funny and because there is a common thread running through them all. Many puzzle brands have made silly puzzles, and the English puzzle brand Gibson is one of the popular puzzle brands in the Puzzle Shop with silly puzzles.

The silly puzzles with cats from English Gibson

Illustrated by Linda Jane Smith, the silly puzzles from Gibson feature either dogs or cats doing the funniest things. They sit, lie down, hang out etc. at a large table out in the garden a bit à la Alice in Wonderland and drink tea. How many cats do you know who drink tea out of fine porcelain cups? Not many, right? That puzzle is called Mad Catter's Tea Party.

In another of Gibson's silly puzzles, the cats are invited to a wedding because 2 cats are getting married. How many cats do you know who have weddings? Probably not many, right? That puzzle is called Happy Ever After and has 1000 pieces.

The silly puzzles with dogs from English Gibson

Dogs can be really silly and they can also be really dirty so they need a bath. This is exactly what many of the silly dog puzzles from Gibson are about.

Linda Jane Smith really gets to draw some funny dog scenes, and the one where the dogs are in the bath is totally silly. There is water, dogs, soap and towels everywhere in the large bathroom in this puzzle . Is this how it feels when you take your dirty dog in the shower? This puzzle with 1000 pieces is called Bert's Bath Night or in Danish: Dogs in the bath.

Silly puzzles from Jan van Haasteren for children and adults

The antics will almost never end in the many large and small puzzles from the Dutch Jan van Haasteren . It is also quite clear that once you have completed 1 puzzle from Jan van Haasteren, you cannot stop at all. Can you recognize it?

The biggest silly puzzle in the Puzzle Shop in Helsingør has 5,000 pieces and is a huge music shop , where you can almost hear the noise from the instruments. Yes, I'm writing noise because it seems like everyone is playing EVERY playable instrument in the music store on this puzzle, and I doubt it sounds pretty.

More antics with puzzles from Wasgij

Just the name Wasgij more than suggests that there is definitely antics going on here. Wasgij is Jigsaw spelled backwards. It's almost impossible to pronounce correctly, and puzzles from Wasgij have to be made in the most impossible way you can imagine: you have to put a puzzle motif that you can't see at all. You can only see where to start by using your imagination to arrive at the final puzzle.
