The day before yesterday I finally pulled myself together: I brought a Wasgij puzzle home from work, because now I had to try it.
The truth is, I've been going round and round and round about the Wasgij puzzles for months and thought: No Bettina, now you have to try to solve a Wasgij puzzle! But then a little voice inside me said: You can't figure that out at all, Bettina. You MUST have a picture to look for. Sigh!
That is why I have alternately put some of the very nice puzzles from eeBoo , Gibson , Cavallini and Galison . They are so beautiful and delicious, and I just love the lovely puzzles.
How do you think this Wasgij puzzle went? It just went so well! Of course, I can't show you how far I've come, because then you can see the motif, and you shouldn't. But I would like to think that I have placed almost half of the pieces, and then I can at least reveal that the motif is something completely different, at least for now, than I thought.
And maybe that's the whole point of these silly and rather challenging puzzles: I've used my imagination a lot more than I thought you should with puzzles. The brain has been running in high gear in a good way, and just think, I've been sitting and putting pieces in the puzzle for 3-4 hours every evening without even looking at the clock. I actually got to bed way too late.
It's quite a fun experience, and I can highly recommend it. Especially the one where you imagine one, but end up having to put in a completely different puzzle motif.
So if you feel like me and think like this:
- These puzzles from Wasgij aren't really pretty
- I probably can't figure it out at all
- Summasumarum: It's not for me at all!
