As Easter approaches and you might have more time to put together the puzzles that you love the most, I've started a giveaway for you to enter . The prize in this week's giveaway is the nice puzzle from eeBoo, which has 1000 lovely thick shiny pieces and is called Poppy and Rabbit .

The motif of the puzzle is the sweetest and softest brown Easter bunny, who sits surrounded by the most beautiful flowers and especially many red poppies. It is a really cozy puzzle motif with many fine details and many lovely colors.

So how do I start? I probably start by sorting the pieces into 2 categories: In the colors red, green, brown and yellow and then of course the edge pieces separately.

Sometimes I like to put the edge on a puzzle first. That way, I get to lay a framework for the work of getting the pieces in place, but it also requires quite a lot of space from the start, both to have room for the edge pieces, which have been assembled AND all the other pieces that have not been assembled yet.

It is a really good motif, I think, because there is great variety with different structures. There are, for example, several different kinds of red flowers, a red butterfly and red toadstools. There are also several different yellow flowers, so it is also obvious to sort in yellow.

The grass and green leaves on plants around the rabbit and under the flowers also have different shades of green and textures that show up with varied patterns so I think they are easy to tell apart. I think I'll take the blue sky at the end. When all the other smaller motifs are gathered, it probably turns out that the blue sky doesn't actually take up that much space.

But all this is just ideas. In reality, I may find myself putting the puzzle in a completely different order simply because the puzzle pieces invite it as they are sorted.

And how do I sort the pieces? I always use my sorting trays from Cobble Hill . They are so practical because they can be stacked when I am not sitting at the puzzle, and then the puzzle takes up much less space. The sorting trays are round, approx. 20 cm in diameter, and precisely their shape is brilliant. The round shape means that you can sort of move the pieces around when you're looking for a specific piece. Maybe it's hard to imagine, but I'll show it on video one of the coming days. I also put the video in the blog.
